Used Technogym Ellipticals
Zero impact, maximum calorie burn. Discover the legendary "Fluid Motion" of Technogym's rear-drive Synchro, Vario, and Crossover machines. Certified refurbished for commercial and home use.
Understand the 3 Types of Motion
Technogym offers three distinct cross-training experiences. Choose the one that fits your training style.
The classic rear-drive elliptical. It uses a fixed stride length designed to mimic the natural biomechanics of running without the joint impact. Smooth, silent, and fluid.
- Movement: Linear/Oval
- Impact: Zero
- Target: Total Body
Similar to the Precor AMT. The Vario allows you to change your stride length from 0 to 33 inches on the fly. You can step, walk, or run just by changing your body movement.
- Movement: Adaptive Stride
- Impact: Zero
- Target: High Intensity / HIIT
A unique machine that adds lateral (side-to-side) movement to the elliptical path. This engages the glutes and core significantly more than standard forward motion.
- Movement: Lateral/Converging
- Impact: Zero
- Target: Glutes & Core

Rear Drive Technology
Unlike cheap "Front Drive" ellipticals found in box stores, Technogym uses a Rear Drive flywheel. This creates a flatter, more natural elliptical path that eliminates the "bouncy" feel and protects the knees.
Self-Powered Generators
Most Excite 700/500 LED models generate their own electricity as you pedal. This means you can place the machine anywhere in your room without worrying about power cords or outlets.
Upper Body Ergonomics
Technogym handlebars are designed with a convergent path that mimics natural arm swing. This engages the pectorals and lats more effectively than static handles.
Elliptical FAQs
Does the Vario require power?
If equipped with the LED console, the Vario is often self-powered. However, versions with the Unity (Touchscreen) console require a standard 110v outlet to power the screen logic.
What is the ceiling height requirement for a Vario?
The Vario has a higher step-up height than the Synchro. At the peak of the stride, the user can be 18-20 inches above the floor. We recommend a ceiling height of at least user height + 24 inches.
Is the Crossover good for bad knees?
Yes. Like the Synchro, the Crossover is zero-impact. The lateral motion actually helps strengthen the vastus medialis and glute medius, which stabilize the knee joint.
